CoScan is an autonomous non-profit making organization funded by subscriptions from its affiliated member societies and individual members, and by voluntary contributions and fund-raising activities. CoScan has close links with the five Nordic Embassies in London and is run by an Executive Committee elected by affiliated societies at the Annual General Meeting.

The AGM is held alternately in the UK and in a Nordic country during the biennial CoScan Conference. The forthcoming AGM will be in Helsinki from 20-22 April 2018. Click for Agenda and Minutes. See also

COSCAN Travel Award

The Travel Award helps young British People between the age of 15 to 25 to visit a Scandinavian country while undertaking a worthwhile project of a broadly educational nature. The closing date for applications for a Travel Award grant is 31st March.

CoScan would like to help as many young people as they can. All donations will directly help young people and continue to enhance the relationship with the Scandinavian countries.

COSCAN International Award

The CoScan International Award was established in 1994. This prestigious award recognises an achievement of outstanding merit by an individual, body or group related to one or more of the five Nordic countries.

CoScan International Award 2018 was presented on 17th October to Finland's Sakari Oramo, the current Chief Conductor of both the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra.

Sakari Oramo was delighted and honoured to accept this prestigious award at a concert at the Barbican in London which was also broadcast live on BBC Radio 3.
