The Anglo-Norse Society has very kindly invited our members along to one of their coming events, which sounds like a lovely afternoon.
Tour and Afternoon Tea at the Royal Albert Hall
Wednesday, 8th November 2023 at 1pm
The Royal Albert Hall is one of the world’s most iconic venues and you may have seen Norwegian soprano Lise Davidsen owning the stage at the recent Last Night of the Proms. The hour-long guided tour will include some behind-the-scenes elements such as the Royal Box and we shall “discover how the building was founded 150 years ago, the royal love story that made it happen, and how one of the UK’s most enduring technical challenges – the RAH echo – was solved”. All areas of the tour are accessible.
Following the tour, we shall have Afternoon Tea in the Royal Albert Hall’s Coda Restaurant. The menu features “classic finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones and a whimsical mix of musically inspired cakes as a nod to the legendary performances that take place on stage”.
