The Anglo-Danish Society

This year is the 60th Anniversary of our charitable Scholarship Programme for postgraduate students – British students in Denmark and Danish students in the UK.

It is an investment in our youth that underpins our purpose of strengthening relations between Britain and Denmark. Eight annual scholarships of £2,500 each are awarded to non-subject specific graduates representing high academic achievement, with a further named scholarship in the ‘built environment’ sponsored by the Ove Arup Foundation.

This funding makes a real difference to the Scholars by enabling further research and providing them with an opportunity to enjoy the whole experience of living and working in another country – ‘to learn more than just the curriculum’.

The Society and its Scholarship Programme rely entirely on the work and commitment of its volunteers, with no paid staff, no overheads and very few administrative costs.

You can help us continue to support our students with a personal donation to the Programme.

  • For an annual donation of £2,500 for a minimum period of 3 years you can have a scholarship award named after you.
  • Consider remembering the Scholarship Programme in your Will with a legacy.

Or your company can be our Lead Sponsor for £3,000 a year.

  • You will be a Corporate Member of the Society that gives:
    • Group access to the annual Black Tie Dinner at the Tower of London
    • Access and recognition at the annual reception in the Danish Ambassador’s residence
