IN MEMORIAM – FALLEN DANES
Memorial service at the Danish Church, St. Katharine’s Precinct, Regents Park, London NW1 4HH on Sunday, 8th September 2024 at 11am
On 8th September 2024, a special memorial service will take place at the Danish Church. The service will be attended by representatives from the Danish Embassy, Danish Royal Life Guards in the UK, the DK-UK Association and the Anglo-Danish Society. Immediately after the service there will be a wreath laying by the memorial stone in the church garden.
The memorial stone was raised in May 2023 and carries the Danish inscription:
TIL MINDE OM DEM DER MISTEDE LIVET I TJENESTE FOR DANMARK - RAISED TO HONOUR ALL WHO PAID THE ULTIMATE PRICE IN SERVICE TO DENMARK.
This event takes place close to the Danish Flag Day on 5th September when Danish civil and uniformed services come together to remember those Danes who served their country in missions or conflicts abroad, at any time. Coffee, tea and Danish pastries will be served after the ceremony. Everyone is welcome and no advance sign up is needed.
