Dinner & Concert at Drapers Hall - 3 May 6 pm 2023

This concert brings together two of the Romantic period’s great composers, and favourites amongst Drapers’ audience - Brahms and Chopin. Pianist Thomas Luke Thomas is a second-year student on a full scholarship at the Royal College of Music who won the keyboard section of the BBC Young Musician of the Year in 2020 when just 17. Luke will perform a selection of Chopin Scherzos to open the night’s concert.

After the interval the Astatine Piano Trio will come to the stage. The Trio was formed in 2021 and were First Prize winners at the 2022 Senior Intercollegiate Piano Trio Competition, and most recently selected by the Virtuoso & Belcanto Festival for a public masterclass with acclaimed pianist and chamber musician Alfred Brendel.
