In a joint initiative by the British Chamber of Commerce in Denmark (BCCD) and the Danish-UK Association (DKUK) we are convening 3 leading international legal firms from Denmark and the UK. Each have made Brexit their areas of expertise and are the forefront of advising both public administrations and private/public companies alike. They are listening carefully to what are the latest updates and devising ways forward companies can navigate from and continue to trade. The companies are Anglo-Canadian legal firm Gowling WLG and the two Danish legal firms Gorrissen Federspiel and Kromann Reumert.
The UK left the European Union 31st January 2020 and has since been going through a transition period of separation still following EU rules and regulation, but in effect no longer part.
Negotiations have been ongoing since 2016 and as we write these are still ongoing. Many things are in place, the UK has already written many EU regulations into UK law. Some things are complete and out in the open and others yet to be settled.
In both instances’ companies can prepare and adjust irrespective if you are a UK company wanting to continue trading with Denmark/other EU countries, or Danish/EU company wanting to continue trading with the United Kingdom.
