Skandium is excited to announce the opening of its first new store in a decade, located in Thurloe Place, South Kensington, London
Skandium’s iconic store on Brompton Road will close its doors after a successful 10-year tenure, making way for a new retail concept, the ‘Skandium Townouse,’ maintaining its presence as the foremost destination for Scandinavian design in the UK.
The new store will be split over two sites in a new retail concept designed to reflect the reality of London living.
Opening its doors in August, a two-storey building at 35-36 Thurloe Place – a well-loved landmark in the area - will become Skandium’s new homeware mecca, stocking their range of soft furnishings, accessories, and one of the largest collections of Scandinavian lighting in London.
Directly opposite, opening in September, a four-storey property at 31 Thurloe Place will become the Skandium Townhouse, a brand new furniture destination. Working within the natural scale of a home will allow them to create room sets designed to inspire shoppers and demonstrate the unique character of Scandinavian living.
The two locations will constitute 5,500sq ft. of retail space.
Skandium’s new stores will be officially celebrated in September during one of the most renowned design events in the World, the London Design Festival, and as part of the Brompton Design District.
