The World Photography Organization holds the Sony World Photography Awards for the 12th consecutive year in partnership with Sony, where professional and budding photographers from around the globe compete in the four main categories of the competition: Professional, Open, Youth and Student. This year, 326,997 contributions have been submitted from 195 countries and territories, which represent some of the finest contemporary images taken during the past year.
Sony World Photography Awards 2019 has unveiled the nominees in the competions for professional and student photographers. Among the nominees, there are three Danes: Thomas Nielsen and Peter M. Madsen are nominated in the Professional competition, while Tobias Kobborg Kristensen is nominated in the Student Competition.
The sensational images of our world go on show at the 2019 Sony World Photography Awards Exhibition from 18 April to 6 May at Somerset House.
