Alan was born in Portsmouth, studied business and eventually became a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
Alan worked predominantly in life sciences and mostly in the pharmaceutical sector. Through merger and acquisition he worked in Eastbourne, Dagenham, Paris and Frankfurt for major international research and discovery based organisations and so extended his core accounting and finance skills. Returning from Frankfurt to the UK Alan joined The British Plastics Federation where he spent the last 10 years before retirement as Director of Finance & Administration.
Alan and his wife Glyn live in Essex and enjoy time with their three children and two grandchildren.
Christian is the son of the late Jens Peter Rasmussen, a former long- standing member of the Anglo-Danish Society including a member of Council twice. Christian has been greatly influenced by his father’s pride in all things Danish, to the point where he feels as much Danish as he does British. Christian studied International Business at Nottingham Trent Business School and has worked in Private Banking in London and Los Angeles. He is currently an Associate Director at Julius Baer in London and an Associate member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. Having been a family member of the Society for a number of years Christian was invited to join the council in 2017. He lives with his wife Emma in Essex.
