| Jockey Club Rooms, Newmarket |
This is not a Day at the Races, but a rare opportunity to visit "HQ", the Jockey Club Rooms which have been at the heart of British horseracing for over 250 years. The interiors are breathtaking and resplendent with paintings by Stubss, Herring and Munnings, fine sculpture and other artifacts donated by Club members to mark major wins or as bequests. Weather permitting, we shall have lunch ont he terrace of the walled garden.
The town of Newmarket of course "breathes" horseracing, surrounded by over 3000 acres of Heath, training and racing grounds for the many studs and stables. We hope there will be time to visit the Racing Museum next door.
