VISIT TO THE THAMES BARRIER

Thames Barrier
We have arranged a private tour of the Thames Barrier's Information Centre with our own guide who will tell us about the Barrier, the River Thames and the work of the Environment Agency. Click heading for details.

NEW YEAR CONCERT
Back by popular demand the UK-EU Societies are presenting their New Year Concert featuring outstanding musicians from the Royal College of Music who perform a largely European programme.

ACROSS THE NORTH SEA CONFERENCE
Subtitled "Later Historical Archaeology in Britain and Denmark 1500-200 AD" it was organised by the City Museums of Odense and Copenhagen, the University of Southern Denmark and the British based Society for Post Medieval Archaeology (SPMA).




DANISH CONTEMPORARY CLASSIC CERAMICS

Finn Lynggaard
Cultural Connections CC was founded in 1998 by Birthe Fraser to promote Danish-Nordic Applied Arts in the UK. Her main annual exhibition in London is now at the Saatchi Gallery, but she recently had her fifth show of ceramic works at Barn Galleries near Henley-on-Thames, an idyllic country setting.




WEEKEND IN YORK
We have arranged an exciting weekend visit to the cathedral city of York, with a gala dinner on Saturday evening. Members of other Danish and Scandinavian societies have been invited to join us, so it promises to be an interesting and lively occasion. Click heading for details.

On a sunny Friday afternoon in early September 26 of us met in the college Chapel garden - we were pleased to see old friends and meet some new ones, as well as our knowledgeable and very friendly guide, Tim.
